We only had a one night stay while we took in a show in Ely. The staff were really happy and helpful. A small boutique establishment but steeped in history. Although there was maintenance work going on it didn't detract from a lovely experience, the whole building was still immaculately clean. Room was beautiful, I believe that all the rooms are individually styled and ours certainly had a little wow factor. It's also a great location to explore the beautiful city and all it has to offer. The food and beverages were top draw too. All in all a fabulous little pub/restaurant/hotel. The building is hundreds of years old but the facilities are 2026. The Royal Standard is a little gem and we'll happily stay there in the future.

The breakfast is cooked to order and excellent. Room lovely - in need of tarting up in places but very clean which is the main thing. Most of the staff were great. Just one female staff member was a bit rude to my partner about letting him through to the accommodation when the key was with me. Only one key per room so hardy our fault. All the other staff were excellent - helpful polite and friendly. Very central location for town, cathedral and short walk to the river. Overall a lovely stay and would recommend.

Great staff, very helpful. We were in room 1 which is a clean modern room. You do hear a little traffic noise but not enough that it's an issue. Just watch you don't rest a bare knee on the heated towel rail when you're sat on the toilet!
