It was a decent enough hotel. There is no doubt about that. We were however overwhelmed by the crowds of children running up and down the hallways screaming at the top of their lungs with not a parent or a hotel staff member in sight. Apparently there were hockey tournaments in Olds that weekend. We were there for a romantic getaway. Parents need to remember that there are other people staying in the hotel too. At breakfast we were shocked by the messes left behind by families, how food was lacking, but soon realized that there was only ONE PERSON who had to take care of EVERYTHING in the breakfast room. What was expected of that poor woman that morning, was pure insanity and utter nonsense. Management shouldn’t let everything slide to appease just one group in the hotel. It was a hostile hockey families takeover and we felt it in every aspect of our stay.
