The hotel is old. Probably built in the 1960's but it was clean and very comfortable with a nice balcony to see some of the ocean. The pool was clean and warm too. The staff were all very nice. The only problem I had was checking out. I needed help with Uber and airline vouchers. The girl behind the desk was not helpful as she didn't know what to do. I highly recommend this place since it's half the price as the larger hotels. I found it cozy and comfortable with a small kitchenette.

I loved this Hotel…Very clean…staff was very nice… Literally in the heart of the strip… We walked everywhere from the Hotel, did not need to move the car, as the restaurants, beach , pubs, bars, night life is all walking distance..Will highly recommended it… and if I come to this area again I will stay here

This is a mixed review, so I will start with the positives - Great location - Right off the beach, nearby shopping and dining options. Beach access about 1/2 block away. The Pelican property was clean, but pretty well dated. There is ample onsite parking available for guests which is nice. The room itself was okay. Very large and spacious. Bed was quite comfortable. Kitchenette was weird. Two refrigerators, a toaster, microwave and coffee pot. I guess I thought a cooktop was included. Negatives - The room smelled VERY strongly of mold as soon as we entered the room. This was coming from the neglected air conditioner unit. Multiple other reviews mention this, but you often think 'It can't be that bad'. In this case, it really is. Wife was coughing within a few minutes of being in the room. We ended up shutting the A/C off completely, opening the windows and using the fan provided to air it out. By day 3 the smell was pretty much gone. Unfortunately, this meant no air conditioning was available at night. Not ideal in Florida, and def not ideal for a $300/night room. Also, the area is very loud at night so open windows was not great for a quiet night's sleep either. Bottom line, the in-room AC's need serviced/cleaned every 3 months. I doubt that is happening. Unfortunately, I will not be staying here again and would not recommend it to anyone else until the AC issues are fixed. There are several other options nearby for similar costs, check them out.
