The Morgan State House Inn is an elegantly restored 19th century building. It is located in the Washington Park Historic District and is close to many of Albany’s downtown attractions. Suites and apartments at the Morgan State House have seating areas, work desks, and satellite TV. Some suites are equipped with free Wi-Fi. Apartments have kitchenettes or full kitchens. The Morgan State House serves breakfast every morning and free Wi-Fi is available in the hotel’s common areas. This is a very interesting and unique place to stay. The location is amazing - overlooking Washington Park, walkable and access to many areas of Albany. A couple of suggestions: the parking lot is a short block from the property which I learned just an hour before arriving. The property address is the place where you check in, which is a brownstone with stairs for entry. Upon checking in I was told I would be in a room 2 buildings down the street, and then given a key chain with 3 keys for access to that building, and the room. Its very much like an Airbnb since the building where I stayed had other occupants (renters, etc.). The room was big and comfortable - a little on the older side but that's not an issue for me. My television did not work - it was a DirectTV (dish) system - and it never worked during my stay. To check out you walk back down the street, ring the bell for assistance and enter that building to check in. Overall, I think this is a nice and unique place with great access - but they need to figure out communication and process a bit more. Older folks with mobility issues would not be a good fit for this hotel option!
