Needlessly complicated check in process - why did I have to supply my ID? There is no UK legal requirement for this and most places don't do it. The booking app has my details if anything goes wrong. My room (6) was in a dark lower basement, not listed as such. I asked for upstairs room which was available but it did not have a cooking stove. Decor bit naff but place was essentially clean and comfortable with proper bedside tables, and reading lights. There was an issue with the hob which I could not get unlocked. I had to eat microwave food, reluctantly. I sent customer service a video showing how hob was stuck. They claimed it was working fine, sending their own video. But I could not tell if it was the same hob and they refused any compensation. Outside front door stinks of cigarettes & no recycling on offer.

It didnt start well as we couldnt get into the accommodation! They didn't send me the codes for doors! But i rang the phone number, spoke to someone straight away and codes were emailed within 5 minutes. Our room (15) was on the very top floor( city views) so was abit of a trek up LOTS of stairs so no good if you have mobility issues. Less than 5 minutes walk to the Hoe and 10 minutes into the city centre so a fab location. The room was well equipped and was perfect as a base. Room was clean (some dust on skirting boards etc) but overall good. There was wash up liquid to clean up your used cups etc but they would have been hard to wash in sink as the sink was tiny!! We would definitely stay here again but maybe not the top floor!

This is the second time I've stayed in this accommodation but my first time in the single room. I was impressed with the space and the facilities. In addition to the usual kettle, tea/coffee there was a microwave, fridge with a small freezer, desk and a full sized ironing board. Although you have to pay, street parking is readily available outside the accomodation. It's situated about 2 mins walk from the sea front and The Hoe and about 10 mins walk from The Barbican. I'd definitely recommend this accommodation for it's value for money, facilities and great situation.
