Upon arrival the house had no lights on & a bunch of conflicting signage outside the gate. I phoned one of the #s and was greeted by cold condescension. This "business" requested cash only to pay for rooms, but was not able to provide me with $5 in change — instead I was given a literal handful of less than $2 in various currency coins. Highly unprofessional. The counters in the shared kitchen & bathroom were filthy; garbages were half full; the towel I was provided smelled moldy as though it had sat forgotten in the wash for several days. I understood I was booking the cheapest available room with a shared bathroom, so I didn't expect to have a super nice space but I did expect it to be clean. I did book a room that specifically said queen sized bed, so I was surprised to be put in what felt like a closet on a double sized cot, not a queen sized bed. When I raised my concern, she was rude in saying "I told you so" that we wouldn't be happy with the room and that we should've paid extra to upgrade to "a room with a view". It was late; we didn't need a view. I pushed back about the bed size so she begrudgingly gave us the room with a proper queen bed as a "free upgrade" but insisted she'd have to cancel our original reservation in favour of a "private walk-up" booking. The "view" was just parking... I wanted to check out the mansion but wasn't allowed in the suite area, which all the ad's pics showed. Everything about this place felt misleading at best, fraudulent at worst.
