Perfectly positioned in a quiet street 5 minutes walk from the Duomo. The reception staff speak excellent English, and are very helpful. The restaurants they recommended were very good, and were all within easy walking distance (old Florence is not a place to take your car due to narrow streets and limited parking). Our deluxe room was large and very comfortable, and old frescoes on the walls and the vaulted ceilings in the public areas made this a unique place to stay. The little internal courtyard would be lovely to have breakfast in during the warmer months. If you like an extensive hot breakfast you will be disappointed, as there is only bacon & eggs, but there is a good cold buffet selection, and the fruit juice and coffee is good.

This is a very nice hotel, and nicely located in a quiet street, 10 minutes walk from the Duomo and all the sights. That said, we did query the room allocated on arrival. We had paid for an upgrade to a delux room and didn't think that was what we got. Apparently it was - it appears that all the rooms shown on the website are suites and very different to all the others. Still, it was a nice room (great bathrooms which are newly refurbished), but not what I'd call delux. I'd recommend this hotel but would rate it as a 3* rather than 4.

Convenient and quiet location within easy reach of main attractions. Full of character. Friendly and helpful staff. Bedrooms in need of renovation. Overall, a lovely unpretentious place to stay.
