Great location just outside of town with a good regular bus service a few minutes away. Rooms are clean and a good size with a walk in shower, kettle and tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits replenished daily. A nice little outside patio area for each room has two chairs for sitting outside if you want although there is a large garden area.The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the freshly cooked breakfast sets you up for the day. The food served in the bar is very good and there is a good selection of Arkells beers on as well as a good choice of cider. All in all i would definately stay here again.

It's a bit run down generally although the purpose built accommodation outside the pub was cosy and comfortable. The pictures of the rest of the hotel are not very representative and were probably taken a long time ago. It's not a buffet style breakfast, just a choice of full English or something else with tea or coffee. I declined to have the breakfast because the are was being redecorated and stunk of paint and was covered in protective sheets.and there was only a small place to eat it in a not very clean area. They should have catered better for people whilst they were refurbishing. I'm not a fussy person but I'm suprised at how high the other reviews are. Makes you wonder ... The staff were friendly and helpful but I won't be goiing back.

The room was a bit tired, but very clean with plenty of extras shampoo etc. The 1st night the service in the bar was dreadful. We waited over 90 minutes for food, it was not totally what we ordered, but we still had to pay full price. The 2nd night wasn't much better, we were told that French fries were still off the menu. The 3rd night we ate elsewhere. Breakfast wasn't brilliant, but acceptable
