The hotel was in darkness, shuttered and deserted when we arrived at about 8:30pm. There were weeds outfront and we thought the hotel was closed. A sign on the door (in Italian only) directed us to the hotel next door where we checked in and were directed via an internal corridor back to the original hotel. The reception, restaurant, and bar were all closed and we felt as if we had walked into a B movie set. We complained and were advised there was no duty manager available. Long story, but the following morning we notified Expedia, checked out of the Grand Eurhotel and into the Sea Lion. Still waiting for a response to our complaint/request for a refund....

The hotel is not worth the amount they ask for. The wifi is only in the lobby, no where else in the hotel. Our room was dirty - marks on the floor and dust bunnies laying around. The kichette had no power to it and was mostly rusted so even if it did it is unlikely to have worked. The room decor was of similar condition and the wallpaper was coming off the walls. Overall me and my father were not happy with our pick of hotel or area - I have "hotel trust issues" as a result of our experience.
