While Olympic Railway Inn feels just the right amount of secluded, you are still only 2 miles away from local grocery stores and shopping. Jardin du Soleil Lavender Farm is only 5 miles out and is next to Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge, that is home to over 250 species of endangered birds, fish and mammals. Dungeness Spit is one of the longest natural spits in the world. In addition to its own natural beauty, it is a great spot for bird watching. While you are staying at the Inn, be sure to check out Olympic Discovery Trail that is located just steps away from cabooses. The route spans around 135 miles between Port Townsend and La Push on the Pacific Coast. As of 2021, 90 miles of the trail have been developed into a complete path. Besides the rail cars, your kids will have a blast exploring the Olympic Game Farm, a drive-through wildlife exhibit, where animals come right up to your vehicle!
