Meeting up with lots of my relatives was great. Yes, the room was clean, but the kettle was not working for my early morning cup of tea (I didn't use it the previous evening)! The staff were efficient, sympathetic and friendly, but were unable to get a replacement kettle to me. Also, when I booked, I did say that I needed a gluten-free diet but the biscuits in the room were not gluten-free! I consider that the cost for one night's stay was expensive, being the full price for two people in a double room. I was by myself and I feel that there should have been some reduction for single usage. (I should have asked for a second breakfast to take home with me!) If there is another family get-together in the future, in view of all the above, I will not book into The Playden Oasts Inn, unless, of course, it is at a much fairer price and/or I receive some compensation for my loss.
