At the South of Biarritz, the Mer et Golf residence Ilbarritz residence welcomes you between a golf course and the Ocean, with the Pyrenees as background and just 1969 feet from Ilbarritz Beach, 2461 feet from the Ocean Museam and 1.2 mi from supermarkets. Basic free WiFi access is available. Full access is available at an extra cost. This comfortable residence is composed of 100 fully equipped studios and apartments, all fitted with kitchenette, terrace, television and WiFi access at an extra cost. Beds are made on arrival and towels are included in the price. Many leisure and outdoor activities are available, with children’s playground, tennis or outdoor swimming pool. In July and August, there is a free shuttle to Bidart and Biarritz, 1640 feet from the property.

Good aspects: Short journey from the airport- Biarritz Good location to the beach Access to local buses to Biarritz and Bidart - ask at reception for free bus tickets valid for 24 hours No so good aspects: No local shops/ food stores Uncomfortable beds and pillows need changing No umbrellas around the pool area and no facilities to buy a drink No extras included on arrival- you will need to bring or buy everything including toilet rolls, tea towels, dish clothes. Only one hand towel provided for 2 adults and 2 bath towels only changed weekly including bed linen. On check out they check to see that the room has been cleaned otherwise you willl be charged !! No safe in the room No local taxis that are happy to go to the local supermarket Illbiarritz which is good long to walk with shopping.

Good overall apartment-style hotel for an extended stay. Hotel is fairly basic but rooms are spacious and front desk service is warm and accommodating. The hotel is about 500 yards from a nice beach, however when the tide comes in it is littered with garbage--although this is more a general trend in the region and in no way related to the hotel. The hotel is about 2.5 km from downtown Biarritz. It's an easy walk or bike ride. We would stay here again.
