Villaggio Turistico Le Diomedee is set directly on the Santa Maria di Merino Beach. It offers self-catering apartments, free parking, and free use of sports facilities. The village staff was very helpful and the animation staff nice and polite. The village had two little inner markets (one selling delicius local vegetables and fruit products) and a good restaurant. Vieste is a good starting place for the exploration of the inner part of Gargano (Foresta Umbra wood, and the old interesting village of Monte Sant'Angelo) the coast towards Mattinata and to have a sea trip to the Tremiti Islands: We really had a very pleasant stay.
