Featuring a large pool and panoramic sea views, Messapia Hotel 2 is 0.6 mi outside Leuca center. During summer, it provides entertainment. Rooms come with a floor-to-ceiling window opening onto a shared patio. Each one is air conditioned and comes with a TV, fridge and a bathroom. Apartments with a kitchenette are available too. A continental breakfast is available each morning, while Messapi restaurant serves Italian cuisine at lunch and dinner. Loved the entire property. Nice rooms, pool, parking, and breakfast. There were 2 large groups staying there so they needed to figure out the dining a bit better. A group of 100 and another 35 were there so they set up for dinner for them and forgot about the other 10-12 guests but eventually ( once said we needed a place too) set up some tables outside for us.

It hurts to give middling ratings. The staff and mgmt were friendly and helpful (eg, they gave me a room close to the reception check-in, they provided transport to the train station when no other option was available). The problem is while the crew might be good they need to run a tighter ship, The property is showing its age, it’s up the hill from the town and is oriented to large groups. As a solo, shoulder season guest, we, the few, are lost in the cracks of pre-season prep.

The best part of this resort is the restaurant. Donato our waiter was awesome and friendly. He went above and beyond to please us. He made our meal that much better. The food is outstanding. Everything we ate was delicious. The room was okay but we did experience some mold in the bathroom. When we told the staff, he just shrugged it off like it was nothing. One of the restaurants was closed for good and the resort had limited events. We only stayed one night so it was okay.
