With gardens, open fireplaces and traditional wooden beams, this beautiful 15th-century inn offers free internet and a 2 AA Rosette restaurant using local, seasonal ingredients. The White Hart is on the Essex/Suffolk border and about 10 miles from Braintree. It has 5 Gold -star awards from Visit Britain (Gold Award) and the AA. Rooms at The White Hart are in a quiet, separate block. Each room has a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee. The White Hart also has an executive guest lounge. There are also fast electric car charging points located in the car park. In 2014 won the 'Best Small Hotel' at the Essex Tourism and Hospitality and in 2016 'Destination Dining Venue' at the Essex Fine Dining.

Looking forward to a nice break at a lovely location, the staff were fantastic and friendly, food was great. The drink prices were too high. The room was a let down, it was damp on entering, plenty of dust eveywhere, the noise and vibration from the road quite bad and noise from room floor above.

What a beautiful little hotel. We stayed the dau after our wedding and wete upgraded tp the honeymoon suite. It was the perfect place to relax after a busy day! Service and food were both excellent. Thank you so much!

The historic building and the restaurant were very good. The accomodation was not good. Scruffy, not all that clean. We found toenail clippings in the bedroom, and broken and rusty facilities in the bathroom. Mostly it was very very noisy all night, with outside doors banging incessantly. Also you could here neighboring guests very clearlyThe staff were not really interested in the guests. They were very young, and out of their depth and gave you no confidence in that they would be able to deal with anything. I
