If you can look past the area that the 'George Hotel' is in then you have a beautiful old building with a very interesting history behind it. Yes the property could do with some investment and renovation, but the building inside was clean and the rooms were clean. The staff were all very friendly. In its hayday this would have been a wonderful building

The hotel is in a serious state of disrepair. Wall paper is hanging off the walls and there was unsavoury characters in the lobby area. A terrible place to stay for the amount they charge. On a plus side the sheets were clean but the mattress felt like it was made 42 million years ago. The reception staff were very friendly and pointed us in the right direction for local pubs and restaurants. I could not fault the reception staff at all
