Stayed four nights in a superior room which was clean and comfortable with the usual amenities. Access up the very steep and narrow stairs not for anyone with poor mobility. The breakfast was excellent but could have had more options beside the cooked breakfast. Meals and drinks in the evening were great. Parking was ok, but could be difficult in the busier months . A quiet location with direct access to a beautiful part of the forest. The pub has no staff on site during the night which is a little disconcerting.

Really.enjoyed our stopover before onward travel into Dorset. Friendly staff who were warm.and welcoming. The room was lovely simple but well equipped and comfortable. We had a lovely cheese board very tasty sweetpotato snack and a very nice local gin which had a distinct and moorish flavour of strawberry subtle and not overpowering. Pleasent breakfast to end our stay. Would stay again.
