We checked in Friday and were told after we got settled into our room by our friends, not the staff at check in, that there would be no hot water until Sat. This was inconvenient because we were there for a wedding and NEEDED a good shower. 1 night, ok we could deal. Then on Saturday we were told the hot water would not be fixed then either. When we complained, we were told they could give us $14 back for our 2 night stay. Ridiculous. Not only that but our friends didn’t have electricity in their room when they checked in and then it was turned on, the microwave was going with moldy food in it. Our other friends couldn’t straighten her hair bc the breaker kept tripping. Other than ALL OF THAT, the room was clean minus stains on the carpets. Elevators, hallway walls and carpets definitely need updating. Breakfast that was provided was ok. Oh we were also supposed to be charged $65 for our Friday stay but cc was ran for $79 and NOT refunded the lousy $14.

We stayed at Baymont by Wyndham Cuero and overall had an okay experience for the price. We arrived very late (around 2 AM), and the staff was attentive and helpful during check-in, which we appreciated after a long day. However, the room type I had originally selected was not available upon arrival, which was a bit disappointing. The room itself was decent and, most importantly, clean—I didn’t see any bugs. There was some visible water damage on the wall next to the tub, and the coffee maker being placed in the bathroom by the sink was a little unusual. The beds were comfortable enough for a short stay. One inconvenience we ran into was the side entrance door we used most often—it would get stuck frequently. We also had to get our room keys reset the next day because they stopped working. We did check out the gym, which was a nice bonus. It had a treadmill, elliptical, bike, and a multi-station machine (lat pulldown, leg curls, etc.), which was enough to get a quick workout in. Breakfast was decent with a good variety: coffee, juice, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, a waffle maker, and cereal options. Overall, for the price, it was acceptable and better than some other places I’ve stayed. Not perfect, but it served its purpose for a short trip.
