Residence Services Calypso Calanques Plage is in the Bonneveine residential area in Marseille, a 15-minute walk from the beaches and the Veldrome Stadium. The Calanques National Park and Borely Park are 10 minutes’ drive away. It offers free WiFi access. Each spacious apartment at the Residence Services Calypso Calanques Plage is air conditioned and soundproofed, and features a flat-screen TV. The kitchenettes are equipped with cooking facilities, a fridge and a microwave. Bed linen is included. Facilities at the Calypso include a vending machine and laundry facilities. We missed our check in time because of flight 2 hour delay, when we arrived we couldn’t find anyone and the phone number we had was a message in French. We eventually found the office inside the building, by waiting for someone to come out as you needed a to type in a number to open the door. Other than that it was comfortable practical, and staff were helpful. It was a half hour walk to the Orange Velerdrome, or the beach, which suited us.

The location is great, easy to walk to shops, parks and the sea side. Very easy parking so super convenient with a car. The property itself is ok but the room was really run down, lots of wear and tear. Bed is not really comfortable, some dust and dead bugs under the table and bed. I was wondering why the price was lower than it used to and know I know.

The room was clearly left unfinished by the cleaners, with lamps on the bed, toiled seat disassembled and chairs on the table. When we pointed this out, we were moved to another room but we wasted half an hour in all this between waiting and moving up and down with suitcases. The reception was often unavailable for queries. I had to ask twice to get an hairdryer, the first day I was promised they would bring one but that did not happen. Very strange and unpleasant that at check out they require guests to empty the bin and take the bin bag in a dirty bin room outside the hotel. The tiny toiletry provided was definitely not enough.
