This place has gone downhill. I stayed there 4 years ago and it was great. The property has been neglected, things are all generally threadbare. The cute bar on site was not open and from the looks of it has not been for a while. You can’t even get a bucket of ice for your room. The fire pit was unusable. The room was clean enough but pretty dingey and smelled like people had been smoking inside. The phone number takes you to a call center in India, I had to call 2x to get the door code sent to me ahead. What used to be a sweet and thoughtfully renovated place with nice minimal luxuries is returning to the rundown trashy motel it probably started out as.

We were left stranded on the day of a wedding because although this establishment is contactless and doesn’t have a “front desk” nothing was communicated to us giving instructions to our reserved room. We were left to change into wedding attire in a local Starbucks bathroom because no one associated with this establishment would answer a call, email or text.

Sometimes you get a pleasant surprise when you check into a hotel in a place that is new to you. This little hotel was fantastic! We had a nice stay and dinner at the restaurant across the street. But this place is so close to the horse track, you can watch the horses work out.
