Was told I could check in - room Wasn’t ready there was a plumber working in the property but he wasn’t there just all his tools- no toilet paper- toilet soiled- boiler broken and leaking all over the kitchen floor

My biggest issue was with the support services - I discovered a completely clogged shower drain in my bathroom upon checking in, rendering the shower completely unusable for fear of flooding the entire bathroom. However staff were unable to provide maintenance until the next day and tried to tell me it was okay for me to leave the unit while they did the work (not remembering that I am desperately waiting for a shower and cannot go anywhere until that happens?? very low contextual awareness). No discount or refund was offered. I also pre-ordered room service during my stay, but when it wasn't provided, I finally emailed 2 days before checkout to ask for the charge to be refunded to me as I had already done all the cleaning. My request for a refund was again rejected and they immediately scrambled to provide room service for a unit that had already been cleaned by me and did not need it. Extremely poor experience interacting with the support staff; they made my stay exponentially worse than it otherwise would have been. Location is fantastic - easy access to London Underground, supermarkets, restaurants, and local outdoor food market. Close proximity to universities means there's plenty of students out, very safe place. Apartment building itself is great; easy access thru codes on door lock to building and to each unit. However, it sucked that there's no elevator and I wasn't warned beforehand, so lugging up my heavy suitcase two flights of stairs was painful.

The apartment was really nice but the people who run it are so hard to get in touch with. I kept having to have Expedia get in touch with them. Also, their "rental agreement" that we have to sign outside of the Expedia app is so sus. They indicate a £350 deposit on the Expedia site and then list it as £500 with a £104 rental fee. They say they will keep your deposit at will, not sure if we are getting it back. They also charge for towels - £12!!!! And if you decline they still put the towels in the apartment. They also charge you for cleaning or you do it yourself - but give no instructions or cleaning supplies. We were so frustrated and couldn't even shower in the morning! We asked for clarification on all of this, but no one would get back to us. The WiFi was also pretty awful, none of the 3 WiFi logins worked, until we finally got one to work after manually typing it in (instead of copy and paste). This would have been a great stay of the owners hadn't had such ridiculous house rules and if we could get in touch with them. Up until the time we finally got our instructions to check in - a half an hour late, I truly thought we had been scammed. We even did a video of the place in case they try to keep our deposit. I'd avoid this company, they ruined an entire afternoon in London because I was trying to work out the details with Expedia
