It is in the middle of the city centre, close to shops, food and cafes; however, it is a vulnerable area and does not show the best sides of Munich. The Middle Eastern-looking front desk clerk who works at night is excellent and personable. Still, the rest were unfortunately unapproachable and cold, which was surprising for such a front-facing role. Unclear why the cleaning staff put only one towel in the room, whereas standard hotels include 2 towels regardless of whether it's a solo occupant or two.

The Bayer-City Hotel is extremely conveniently situations within 3 minutes walk for the Hauptbhanhof (Central Station) from which you can reach the airport, conference centre, museums and virtually any part of Munich by the Underground U trains or S trains or trams and busses (the integrated public transport system in Munich is brilliant easy and inexpensive). The rooms are clean, comfortable, the shower was good but needed a higher clip, so you did not have to hand hold it. The hotel has no restaurant but there are nearby places you can buy breakfast (for example, Central Station is packed with breakfast options). It is situated in a nightclub area which means on one side it is lively and there are loads of eating options of all sorts of types and prices. On the other hand it can be a bit noisy at night (this did not bother me, but I am a good sleeper). It is competitively priced. The internet was good - fast and free. I would have liked to have instructions in English for using the TV. All in all, very good value and super-conveniently located.
